Strings in the Mountains Music Festival features over 80 concerts and programs that appeal to every age and musical inclination! Strings offers an international roster of musicians, from classical to bluegrass, Grammy winners and nominees to young rising stars, coming together throughout the summer to produce one of the country’s most wide ranging music events. The Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp was founded in 1913 and offers summer programs taught by internationally renowned faculty in dance, theater, musical theater, dramatic writing and equitation for ages 8 through college. Live Music, Theater, Comedy and Dance – a free concert series is featured throughout the year at the Steamboat Ski Area and Howelson Hill. Nightclubs and restaurants on the mountain and downtown regularly bring in national and local talent. Ski Town Productions creates original musical theater. Steamboat Community Players performs theater productions. Local dance, music, chorale and other theater groups put on annual performances.

The Steamboat Springs Arts Council, established in 1972, is a community-based, nonprofit organization that produces art and cultural events and serves as an advisor and advocate for over 30 affiliated organizations. There are a number of art galleries located downtown and in the mountain shopping areas. Steamboat Springs is home to a thriving community of artists whose works are available in many local shops and galleries.

Steamboat Springs hosts many Festivals and Parades – Mountain Film Festival, Winter Carnival, Valentine’s Torchlight Parade & Fireworks Display, Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park, Beaux Arts Festival, Wine Festival, Wild West Air Fest and Fall Foliage Festival and Mountain Brewfest to name a few- Check the Calendar of Events for upcoming festivities!

Professional rodeo performances are held every Friday and Saturday night from June through August at the Romick Rodeo Arena located at Howelsen Hill. Events include bull riding, barrel racing, bareback riding, saddle brone riding, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, calf scramble, ram scramble and pee-wee barrel racing.
